Why people look for a Constant Contact alternative
"Cheaper alternative to Constant Contact?" is one of the most common questions small organizations ask. The reasons are usually the same.
- The price jump at 501 contacts. According to published price lists, Constant Contact Lite costs $12 a month for up to 500 contacts and $50 a month from 501 contacts (as of October 2026). One new subscriber can quadruple your bill.
- No free plan. Constant Contact removed its free plan in June 2025, so every account is a paid account.
- Cancelling can take a phone call. Constant Contact's cancellation page lists support phone numbers, and many reviewers report they had to call to cancel.
What it costs
MailWild has one plan, priced by how many people you can email, with unlimited sends. Every size is at least 25% under Constant Contact Lite.
| Contacts | 500 | 2,500 | 5,000 | 10,000 | 25,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MailWild | $9 | $33 | $56 | $82 | $202 |
| Constant Contact Lite | $12 | $50 | $80 | $120 | $280 |
| Mailchimp Essentials | $13 | $45 | $75 | $110 | $270 |
Monthly prices, billed monthly, from each company's pricing page as of October 2026. A dash means that plan isn't sold at that size or we couldn't confirm the price.
The steps between sizes are small. If you go from 500 to 501 contacts on MailWild, your plan moves from $9 to $19 a month, not to $50. See every size on the pricing page, or read Constant Contact pricing explained for the full breakdown.
Cancelling MailWild
You pay monthly and can cancel any time from the Plan screen in your account. There's no phone call and no form to fill in. Your first payment also comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Setting up is free. You can import your list, connect your domain, write your first newsletter and send test emails to yourself before you pay anything. You pay when you send to your list.
What you give up, honestly
Constant Contact does a lot more than newsletters. MailWild doesn't have:
- Landing pages. MailWild has signup forms, but not full landing pages.
- Event registration, SMS, social posting or A/B testing.
- Phone support.
- A free plan.
What it does have: a block editor with newsletter layouts, photos, video and buttons, an AI that drafts the whole newsletter from your notes, sending from your own domain, scheduled sends, welcome sequences, and simple results (delivered, opens, clicks, unsubscribes). If that covers what you send, MailWild will feel lighter.
Before you switch, check these
A few things to sort out first, whichever tool you move to:
- Your billing date. Find it on your last Constant Contact invoice. Plan to send from the new tool and cancel a few days before that date, so you don't pay for another month you won't use.
- Your signup form. If people join through a Constant Contact form on your website, replace it with your MailWild signup form before you close Constant Contact, so new people keep reaching you.
- Your sending address. If you send from an address at your own domain, like news@yourchurch.org, you'll connect that domain in the new tool so inboxes can verify your mail is really from you.
- Old reports. Download any open or click reports you want to keep. They don't move with your contacts.
Moving over
- Export your contacts from Constant Contact as a CSV or Excel file. Include the email status, list and tag columns.
- Drop the file into MailWild. Your Constant Contact lists and tags become MailWild lists, and unsubscribed contacts stay unsubscribed.
- Send one newsletter from MailWild, then cancel Constant Contact before your next billing date.
